LABScon 2023: Cutting-Edge Cybersecurity Research in Real Time

LABScon 2023 was a gathering of the world’s leading cybersecurity experts, where they shared their latest research and insights. The conference was held in Scottsdale, Arizona, and featured keynotes and presentations from esteemed threat researchers and cybersecurity professionals.

Elizabeth Wharton started the conference with a deep dive into how legal systems are manipulated by powerful entities to hinder cybercrime prosecutions. Adam Rawnsley then presented on the Iranian company that’s powering Russia’s drone war on Ukraine.

Kristin Del Rosso and Matt Devost shared their insights on using data leaks to learn more about adversaries in their talk titled “Ghost in the Breach: Using breach intelligence to hunt hidden Russian assets”.

The conference also featured discussions on AI, with DARPA’s Perri Adams and Gabriel Bernadett-Shapiro discussing AI, Cyber Defense, and Incentivizing Innovation. Eoin Wickens provided a fascinating talk on AI tech in his presentation “Rage Against the machine (learning): A cross section of attacks on AI systems”.
