SentinelOne Named One of PEOPLE’s Companies That Care

SentinelOne is proud to be named one of PEOPLE’s Companies That Care, an annual recognition developed in partnership with Great Place To Work® that honors organizations succeeding in business while demonstrating exceptional care for their employees, communities, and the environment. Based largely on employee feedback, the recognition also evaluates workplace culture, community impact, and the ways companies invest in their people.

Behind the recognition are thousands of individual experiences. Conversations with Sentinels across four countries and multiple functions revealed a common thread: people support one another through life’s challenges, create opportunities for one another to grow, and give back to the communities where they live and work.

Sentinelone Company that Cares - MartaCare Starts with People

One year ago, Marta Pieńkosz, Staff Program Manager, who is based in Poland, faced a serious health challenge that required an extended period of treatment and recovery. As uncertainty grew around her health, she also worried about what it might mean for her career. She didn’t know how long she would be away or what returning to work would look like. However, instead of pressure or deadlines, she found reassurance.

I was told, ‘It will take whatever it takes. It’s for your health. You don’t have to worry. We are with you,’” Marta recalled.

Her manager and colleagues stayed in touch throughout her recovery, checking in regularly and reminding her that her only priority was getting better. Flowers and messages of encouragement were thoughtful reminders that her job would be there when she was ready to return.

These were small things, but when I wasn’t living my best life, they were everything,” she said. “Feeling safe with my employer and knowing that my work was waiting for me gave me stability. It became one of the solid pillars, alongside my family and friends, that allowed me to stay confident that I could overcome what was happening.

Care in Action

For many employees, the support they experience inside SentinelOne naturally extends beyond the workplace. Through S1 Cares, employees volunteer their time and expertise to strengthen the communities where they live and work. Last year alone, more than 1,300 Sentinels participated in 45 volunteer projects across 26 cities, partnering with local organizations to make a meaningful difference in the communities where they live and work.

Sentinelone Company that Cares - CyberSafeFor Marta, that meant hosting CyberSafe with a group of seniors, bringing together a small group of Sentinels to help older adults recognize phishing attempts, AI-enabled scams, and other increasingly sophisticated cyber threats hiding in suspicious emails, misleading text messages, and urgent phone calls.

What really mattered was that somebody from the newer generation took the time to spend the day with them,” Marta said. “We shared knowledge, and they shared so much warmth and so many smiles with us. If someone had asked us to repeat it the next day, we would have said yes, one hundred percent.

That same spirit inspired Billy Affanato, Account Executive, Commercial in South Florida to lead S1 Cares initiatives for the past four years.

Sentinelone Company that Cares - BillyBilly first became involved by spearheading a beach cleanup in Fort Lauderdale with Heal the Planet. Since then, he has helped organize projects with organizations including Child Rescue Coalition, Restoration Bridge, and others, supporting causes that range from environmental protection to food access and assistance for children and families.

The projects bring together employees from Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Audit, Renewals, Legal, Deal Desk, and other teams that may rarely interact during the normal course of work. Those relationships continue long after the volunteer day ends, strengthening collaboration inside SentinelOne while creating a positive impact in local communities.

Sentinelone Company that Cares - BillyIt’s not only about volunteering,” Billy said. “It’s also about building connections across SentinelOne. We’re truly a force for good together.

Billy believes that same culture carries into customer relationships. “Companies that truly care about their employees will have employees who truly care about their customers.

Trust Creates Opportunity

Care also shows up in the trust employees receive to manage their lives, explore their strengths, and contribute beyond the boundaries of their formal roles.

Sentinelone Company that Cares - KamakshiFor Kamakshi Bawa, Senior Technical Support Engineer in India, that trust was evident from the beginning of her SentinelOne experience. From flexible working arrangements to open conversations about her growth and career aspirations, she says her managers have consistently focused on helping her succeed while giving her the ownership to do her best work.

The trust Kamakshi received soon led to opportunities she had not expected so early in her tenure. Within months of joining, she was invited to host an APJ Technical Support event. Her manager recognized her previous presenting experience and gave her the space to step forward, backed by the team’s full support. Kamakshi received an on-the-spot award for her presentation, followed by additional recognition from senior leaders.

Sentinelone Company that Cares - IndiaEven though I had only been here for a few months, they trusted me,” she said. “That support is why the event was such a success.

Kamakshi has also seen recognition built into the way her team operates. Positive customer feedback is shared broadly, and contributions are celebrated through peer recognition.

The people are really very good,” she said. “I’m not just saying that to say it, I’m saying it because it’s true.

Feeling Valued as an Individual

For Marco Rottigni, Principal Solutions Architect in Italy, care is measured less by grand gestures and more by the way people make one another feel every day.

Sentinelone Company that Cares - MarcoWorking remotely as part of a globally distributed team, Marco says creating a sense of belonging requires intention. Despite the distance, he has never felt disconnected from the company or the people around him.

You don’t feel like a number,” Marco said. “You feel like an individual, and you are supported as such.

That feeling extends beyond day-to-day work. Over the years, Marco has watched colleagues rally around teammates during major life events, celebrating new babies, supporting one another through personal challenges, and making sure people know they are more than just employees. The same care has shaped Marco’s own experience at SentinelOne. Small, unexpected gestures of appreciation have become meaningful reminders that his contributions are valued, not only by his team but by the company as a whole.

SentinelOne makes people feel appreciated,” he said. “I’ve never experienced that anywhere else in my career.

Sentinelone Company that Cares - S1 CaresThat same sense of belonging inspired Marco and his coworkers Luca Besana, Channel Business Director, and Stefano Morotti, Sr. Solutions Engineer to give back in their own community. Through S1 Cares, they volunteered to deliver cybersecurity awareness sessions for primary and middle school students, adapting SentinelOne educational materials to help younger audiences recognize phishing attempts, online scams, cyberbullying, and other digital risks. What stayed with Marco most wasn’t the opportunity to teach, but the students’ curiosity and eagerness to learn, turning each session into an engaging conversation rather than a classroom lecture.

We are fortunate to do work we love,” Marco said. “I genuinely feel the need to give back.

A Recognition Built by Employees

Being named one of PEOPLE’s Companies That Care is meaningful because it reflects the experiences of Sentinels themselves.

Across every conversation, one theme emerged consistently. Sentinels who feel supported look for ways to support others. Whether that means helping a colleague through a difficult time, protecting customers, or giving back through S1 Cares, care doesn’t stop with the individual. It extends outward, shaping how employees show up for one another, for customers, and for their communities.

For Marta, that’s why the recognition feels so authentic.

Gratitude is something that we share on a daily basis,” she said. “It’s just how the company runs.
