SentinelOne Demo: SentinelOne VS BackMyData Ransomware – Detection and Mitigation
In this video demonstration, see how the SentinelOne Singularity XDR Platform protects against BackMyData Ransomware, a variant of the Phobose ransomware family. Similar to 8base, this significant cyber threat is known for exploiting weak or misconfigured RDP connections and has been associated with a recent large-scale attack on Hipocrate Information System, or HIS.
The threat actors behind BackMyData Ransomware recently targeted 100 hospitals in Romania, with 25 of these health-care facilities confirming data encryption by the attackers and 75 others disconnecting their systems as precautionary measures.
This SentinelOne demo provides a comprehensive analysis of how BackMyData Ransomware operates, from its delivery via email and phishing or through prior stage infections like SmokeLoader, to the execution of the final ransom demand. This demo also shows how the SentinelOne Singularity XDR Platform can identify and halt any malicious activities and items related to BackMyData Ransomware, thereby protecting systems from such threats.
